Datasets
- FAOStat - Food and Agriculture Organization data
FAOSTAT provides free access to food, agriculture, and forestry data for over 245 countries and territories and covers all FAO regional groupings from 1961 to the most recent year available. The forestry data comprehends Forestry Production and Trade, and Forestry Trade Flows.

The Global Carbon Project (GCP) integrates knowledge of greenhouse gases for human activities and the Earth system. The projects include global budgets for three dominant greenhouse gases — carbon dioxide, methane, and nitrous oxide — and complementary efforts in urban, regional, cumulative, and negative emissions. The temporal coverage is from 1959 to 2022, and the dataset updated every year. The temporal resolution is 1 year.

View website - HILDA+ - HIstoric Land Dynamics Assessment+
HILDA+ (HIstoric Land Dynamics Assessment+) is a global dataset on annual land use/cover change between 1960-2019 at 1 km spatial resolution. It is based on a data-driven reconstruction approach and integrates multiple open data streams (from high-resolution remote sensing, long-term land use reconstructions and statistics). It covers six generic land use/cover categories: 1: Urban areas, 2: Cropland, 3: Pasture/rangeland, 4: Forest, 5: Unmanaged grass/shrubland, 6: Sparse/no vegetation.

View website - HYDE - History database of the Global Environment
HYDE is and internally consistent combination of updated historical population (gridded) estimates and land use for the past 12,000 years. Categories include cropland, with a new distinction into irrigated and rain fed crops (other than rice) and irrigated and rain fed rice. Also grazing lands are provided, divided into more intensively used pasture, converted rangeland and non-converted natural (less intensively used) rangeland. Population is represented by maps of total, urban, rural population and population density as well as built-up area.
View website - Land-Use Harmonization (LUH2) - Harmonized Global Land Use v.2
Land-Use Harmonization data set includes 0.25-degree gridded, global maps of fractional land-use states, transitions, and management practices for the period 0850-2100. It includes land-use change data relating to agricultural expansion, deforestation, wood harvesting, shifting cultivation, afforestation, and crop rotations. The goal of the Land-Use Harmonization (LUH2) project is to prepare a harmonized set of land-use scenarios that smoothly connects the historical reconstructions of land-use with the future projections in the format required for ESMs. The land-use harmonization strategy estimates the fractional land-use patterns, underlying land-use transitions, and key agricultural management information, annually for the time period 850-2100 at 0.25 x 0.25 resolution, while minimizing the differences at the transition between the historical reconstruction ending conditions and IAM initial conditions, and working to preserve changes depicted by the IAMs in the future.

SoilGrids provides global predictions for standard numeric soil properties (organic carbon, bulk density, Cation Exchange Capacity (CEC), pH, soil texture fractions and coarse fragments) at seven standard depths (0, 5, 15, 30, 60, 100 and 200 cm), in addition to predictions of depth to bedrock and distribution of soil classes based on the World Reference Base (WRB) and USDA classification systems (ca. 280 raster layers in total. Period of 2000-2017, at 250 meters resolution, unit is Mg/Ha.
